STAFF SPOTLIGHT – WHITNEY MURATET!
This staff spotlight goes to our wonderful Whitney Muratet! Whitney is our Listings and Concierge Supervisor and takes care of all new listings here at David Lyng. She is extremely hard working and a huge asset to our Transaction Department. She is a joy to be around and we are so lucky to have her as a member of our DLRE Staff!
⭐️ What is your job here at David Lyng? I work with all the wonderful 200+ Agents managing the listing services department. I also help oversee our concierge services.
⭐️ Tell us about you! I grew up in a small town in Michigan, border to Canada. I moved to California at 19 years old and never left. I have a four year old son, Levi, and my Husband, John is an elementary school teacher.
⭐️ Favorite hobbies? Adventuring with family. You can find us at the beach, exploring little towns and new restaurants. I also enjoy weekend trips to the library and cozy nights at home.
⭐️ Favorite local hangout/eatery? Akira Sushi, Cat + Cloud Coffee
⭐️ What’s a fun fact about you? I am a licensed esthetician and am quite passionate about clean beauty.
⭐️ What to you is the David Lyng Advantage? I love the amount of training and support that is offered. Whether it’s training or speaking with the many seasoned agents here. Everyone is so kind and happy to pass on their wealth of knowledge.

〰️What’s your favorite thing about David Lyng Real Estate? The support staff that helps me with everything! The broker Morgan, is available anytime in person. Useful meetings to keep us up to date on everything.
〰️Any advice you would give to a new agent? TShadow successful agents as much as possible. Keep up with your database. Keep in contact with your clients regularly! If I were to start over, I would have picked an area or a couple that you want to specialize in and farm the heck out of them.
〰️What do you like to do in your free time? IWhat’s that?
I love to workout with weights and Orangetheory Fitness. I used to play a lot of beach volleyball but haven’t had the time lately and want to get back to it & running the beach. Mountain biking too. I love to walk my dogs, eat out – I love food! drinking wine and Netflixing. Love concerts & traveling!
〰️Who are your favorite people and why? TFamily, friends, many colleagues I’m still getting to know. My girlfriend & partner, Michelle.
〰️Where are your favorite places and why? Anywhere I fly to cuz it’s usually a vacation! Love Paso, Cabo, Europe, Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs – cuz my parents all live there. Adoptive dad & stepmom & my birth mother and stepdad.
It’s complicated but it’s wonderful.
〰️ Favorite Local Eatery? Crows Nest is always nice with the view & I love their smoked salmon and salad bar! We love the Point too…. Great food and service always and more of a locals spot. Eastside Eatery, Cafe Cruz, Zameen, Sushi garden. Paradise Grille, Shadowbrook, Lillian’s & Michael’s on Main

〰️ Additional or interesting information about you: I grew up in the Bay Area and started in High tech but really didnt love it, then switched to Real estate selling mostly San Jose, Willow Glen, Los Gatos areas and did pretty well. Divorce brought me to Capitola after a couple years and I literally started over and didn’t know anyone in Santa Cruz county. I was doing pretty well til the market of 2006 crashed and, rather then move back to hi-tech, I bartended and even got a job at Trader Joe’s in Capitola and only sold a couple homes a year til it got better. I got some of my best clients at those jobs & have no regrets. When my boss at TJ’s caught me doing deals on my phone in the bathroom, he told me I should just quit and focus on Real Estate. Lol

〰️ What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to be in the outdoors. Hiking and taking in the beauty of the mountains. I also love to wine taste and go to our second home in Arnold, Ca.
〰️ Who are your favorite people and why?
My favorite people would have to be my 2 girls Jessica and Jordin. Now 30 and 27, they amaze me everyday…
〰️ Do you have any animals or pets?
We have two kitties. Bently and Bella. They own our home..we just pay the mortgage! 🙂
〰️ Where are your favorite places and why?
I love to go to our home in Arnold and visit all the mountain communities that surround it. I also love to go to Cabo to push my reset button!
〰️ Favorite Local Eatery?
I would have to say Casa Nostra. The Owners are amazing and the food is the best!
〰️ Favorite Local Activity and where you like to do it?
Hiking in Henry Cowell for sure! Walking West Cliff for the ocean vibe
〰️ Additional or interesting information about you?
I was born and raised here in Scotts Valley. As a child, my friends and I rode our horses in the Scotts Valley Days Parade and we even rode to the Boardwalk once! My entire family was in the Cavalcade Production in the late 70’s! I’m aging myself lol! Now I love wine and am kind of a foodie 🙂
